Urban Inferno uses XR to translate complex climate data into an interactive urban experience. Through spatial storytelling and real-time feedback, users witness the impact of rising temperatures firsthand. The experience encourages awareness of sustainable urban design.

The experience begins as users enter the city of Belmont, Arizona, exploring rising heat-index mappings driven by present-day climate decisions. The environment then transforms to reveal the devastating consequences of extreme heat in the year 2053, showing a city rendered unlivable. In the final phase, participants interact with a 3D city model to rebuild and make sustainable choices that shape a more climate-resilient future.
